Imagine being able to enter into the flow, into the current, of the energy of the cosmos. Rather than trying to force or to control the direction and destination of the flow, you instead choose to accept, to receive the power of flowing with the current. In the river of life, this is being in the 'current moment'. And this is what you experience when you are in your connection to the all and everything, when you are in your Presence, when you are in your joy.
Attempting to control the direction or the destination of the river, of the flow, of your life, takes you out of your Presence, out of your pre-sense of your Self as the love of, and for, everything. If you are not in the current moment, you are out of the experience of receiving all the love that the all and everything has for you. This is why babies and toddlers are generally so content, despite their complete lack of autonomy they are having a consistent experience of themselves as being of, and in the love of the all and everything. They are having a consistent experience of themselves as the love of the cosmos. They are of and in their Presence. They are in their joy.
When we are having a hard time we are told to look for 'the light at the end of the tunnel' or 'there's always light at the end of the tunnel'. Whilst, no doubt well meaning, these phrases keep us in the dark. By stating that the light is at the end of the tunnel, it of course implies that there is no light in the tunnel. How ghastly! No wonder we're all desperate to get out of the tunnel!
Well what if all there was, was the tunnel? What if the tunnel is your life, and so being in the tunnel was actually what your life experience is and is meant to be?
Scrabbling to find the light at the end of the tunnel is tantamount to reaching for the end of your life. And that's how most of us live, most of the time. We're so focused on finding this illusory 'light at the end of the tunnel', that will take us out of the tunnel, that we don't allow ourselves to actually experience being in the tunnel, to being in the experience of our life.
And what if, when we allowed ourselves to experience actually being in the tunnel we saw that it was already full of light? We can only see the stars and the depth of colour of the Aurora Borealis against the night sky, when it is dark. The point of 'darkness', its reason for existence, is to reveal the light. If everything in your life is all rosy posy all the time, you never get to 'see' your light, because there is no darkness for your light to be reflected upon.
What if the point about your life experience being a tunnel, was to support you in finding the light already in it? What if your tunnel, your life experience was already full of light? What if your life was an Aurora Borealis that you only see when you are in the tunnel, in the dark? What if your scrambling to get out of the tunnel, to get out of the dark could only result in your being out of the presence of all the light that is already in the tunnel?
Being attached to needing to find the light at the end of the tunnel only detaches you from the joy of experiencing your light, detaches you from experiencing the light that is always there. Being attached to needing to find the light at the end of the tunnel only detaches you from your Presence. If you are not in your Presence then you are not in your current moment, and if you are not in your current moment then you are out of your connection with the all and everything. And if you are out of your connection with the all and everything then how can you experience the love that the all and everything is and has for you? Then where's your joy?
Being in your current moment, being in your Presence, reveals your light, reveals your joy. If the tunnel of your life looks dark to you at any given moment, then, rather than frantically search for the light, accept and receive the darkness, let your Self be in the tunnel, knowing that, in time, you will come to see it's light.
Know too that you are never given anything to 'break' you, you are only given experiences to 'make' you. The cosmos loves you, it exists for you to come to know/see/sense/feel the magnificent love that you are, so as to become your Presence.
Standing still whilst the maelstrom swirls around you, rather than running around frantically trying to batten down the hatches, means that you are experiencing the maelstrom, you are accepting it, you are receiving it. Now, all the gifts of love that this maelstrom has been designed to give to you can be received by you. The darkness has become light, your darkness has become your light.
Standing still whilst the maelstrom swirls around you, rather than running around frantically trying to batten down the hatches means that you are entering into the flow, entering into the current moment, You have become as one with the current of the river of your life. Each moment has become a movement of the current of the river of your life. You are in and of your Presence, your pre-sense of all the love that you are and of all the love that the cosmos has for you. That's joy!
At any moment you can choose to enter into your flow, into your current moment, into your current movement and be embraced by your joy.
